After the death of King Ahaziah of Judah, his mother Athaliah took over the throne, and put all his descendants to death. However, Jehosheba managed to rescue Jehoash, the son of Ahazaiah. She and her husband, Jehoiada raised him, and at the age of seven years, anointed and crowned him as the king of Judah. Jehosheba is also called Jehoshabeath in the Bible.
