Origin - Hebrew.
Moses was the Biblical prophet who received the ten commandments from God, led the oppressed Jews out of Egypt and founded the Israelite nation. Moses was the son of Amram and Jochebed. Just before his birth, the Pharoah ordered that all newborn Hebrew boys be put to death. His mother hid Moses in the bushes along the river Nile, where he was found by an Egyptian princess and was adopted by her. Moses was the author of the first five books of the Bible. |
